I have acted for a number of service personnel and all of these have come to me through the initial recommendation of one party, who when I acted for him and his family, were abroad. Having a young family and heavy work commitments did not make it easy for them to keep coming back from Europe regularly. Consequently when they did travel back they knew it would not be a waste of time as I had already viewed the properties and created a portfolio for them.

The property, which I did find for them, was a new one and we caught it at the time when it was possible to have a say in the fixtures and decorations. This I oversaw, liaising between my client and the builders up to completion, largely through E-mail.

It was not long before a colleague of the earlier client approached me to help with their search and I found a cottage for them in Wiltshire. This experience lead to another member of the armed forces asking for help and coincidence would have it, that it was virtually a repeat of the same exercise. Recently I have found a country home for yet another colleague.

Homesearch can appear at first glance to be an expensive item, but how much time and money can be spent in wasted journeys added to the sheer frustration of getting many agents to send the right information in the first place.
